Policy Overview
At Geektress Goods, we take immense pride in our craftsmanship and treat every item with the utmost care. However, machine embroidery involves high-speed mechanical needles and industrial equipment. While rare, mishaps can occur that are beyond our control. Because we did not source the garment, we cannot guarantee how your specific item will react to the embroidery process.
By submitting your own items for embroidery, you agree to the following terms:
1. Acknowledgment of Risk
You acknowledge that the embroidery process involves piercing fabric with needles at high speeds. Risks include, but are not limited to:
- Mechanical Malfunction: Machines may "eat" or snag the fabric, causing holes or tears.
- Needle/Thread Breaks: A broken needle can sometimes leave a small snag or hole in the material.
- Hooping Marks: The frames used to hold the fabric taut may leave "hoop burn" (pressure marks). These typically wash out or steam out, but on certain delicate fabrics (like velvet or suede), they may be permanent.
- Fabric Issues: Some fabrics may pucker, stretch, or tear under the tension of the thread.
2. Limitation of Liability (The "No Replacement" Clause)
In the unlikely event that your item is damaged during the production process:
- We will NOT replace the item or reimburse you for the cost of the item.
- We will NOT charge you for the embroidery service on that specific damaged item.
- Recommendation: We strongly advise against bringing in heirlooms, one-of-a-kind vintage pieces, or highly expensive items that cannot be easily replaced.
3. Item Condition Requirements
To ensure the best possible result, all items provided by the customer must meet these criteria:
- Cleanliness: All garments must be newly washed and free of pet hair, strong odors, or debris. We reserve the right to refuse dirty items as they can damage our equipment.
- Suitability: Not all fabrics are suitable for embroidery. We reserve the right to decline an item if we believe the fabric is too thin, too stretchy, or too thick to produce a quality result.
- Pocket/Zipper Placement: If the desired embroidery location is over a pocket or heavy seam, please note that this may affect the quality of the stitch or may not be possible.
4. Errors and Misspellings
We will provide a digital proof/mockup for your approval before stitching.
- It is your responsibility to check all spelling, dates, and color choices on the proof.
- If the final product matches the approved proof, Geektress Goods is not responsible for errors (e.g., misspelled names) and no refund will be issued.
